Not a fan of the smell at all but like the sponge and how foamy it isLove the clean tight skin feeling. It smells amazing, exfoliates and foams up so nicely.UPDATE: According to the product information page here on Amazon, the sponge that comes with this cleanser is NOT meant to be used directly on your skin. Seems like something that would good to include in the usage instructions on the product itself!>>>>>>>>This product is a foaming cleanser. I mean, it is an intensely foaming cleanser! Between the product itself and the compressed sponge that accompanies it, it creates a LOT of foam! And that foam is rich and luxurious, and it does feel pretty amazing on my skin. After that, though, I can't say that this cleanser performed any miracles on my face. It left it feeling very soft and smooth and maybe even moisturized, that's for sure, but I have a few other products that do that...and for a lot less than this one costs. I do feel like the sponge is a little bit gimmicky, but it certainly does help get that foam going. It is pretty abrasive, which I'll admit, feels kinda nice, but it's a bit too much for my sensitive skin. I prefer chemical exfoliation to mechanical, so the scrubbing aspect isn't a great thing for me. Neither is the scent. I appreciate that this is a skin-nourishing cleanser that is free of artificial fragrances, preservatives, and petroleum products, and that it, like all PASO A PASO products, is cruelty-free. Yay!Look, this stuff is very nice to use. It feels good and I think it has some good results. But as other reviewers have mentioned, I can't imagine why it costs nearly fifty bucks. That price alone gives me wrinkles! My rating is based only on the product itself, not its price, but I do think it's worth mentioning. I don't think it performs at the fifty-dollar-cleanser level.But it's really fun to use, and it sure makes a LOT of foam!I hope my experience with this product might help YOU make a more informed purchase. Happy shopping!This is an interesting and unusual face cleanser. It comes out from a tube as a gray and slightly slimy gel, which is not really that surprising since it is made of sea mud. Included with the cleanser is a small sponge, which is used to create the foam. A little dab of the cleanser is enough for plenty of foam to wash the entire face and neck. The more you knead the wet sponge with a cleanser the more foam it will create. The cleanser doesn’t have much of a scent. It cleans my face well, removing makeup and impurities. After the use my skin feels clean and fresh but also a little tight. It a similar feeling to that after use of clay cosmetic products. My skin type is combination with a quite oily t-zone and normal to dry cheeks. This cleanser works well for me but only when I use it once a day, so alternative it with a moisturizing cleanser. After a week of this routine, there were no breakouts or any other negative effects on my skin and the oiliness in my t-zone has diminished.The 40 g tube is quite tiny but I use very little of the product (about half of the amount from my picture per one use) so it should last a while. Although I enjoyed trying it and it works well for my skin I will probably not repurchase it because of its high maintenance nature while compared to other cleansers. Being a busy mom my skincare routine time is limited and it takes time to make the foam on the sponge and wash and dry the sponge after each use. Products that come out of the package ready for use are a better match for me at this time. Also, according to the package this cleanser can’t be stored in high humidity and high temperature environment so keeping it in the bathroom wouldn’t be recommended. So, I don’t feel like it’s a product for me but if you have oily or combination skin without very dry zones and have the time to enjoy a diy spa experience face wash I do recommend it.I am in my late 40's with dry sensitive skin made more so by my employment as a swim instructor and coach. I am constantly on the search for products that will clean but not strip or over dry my skin. Most products I try go to my teen daughters to test as well. This product isn't leaving my hands!Paso a Paso (Step by Step) offers this mud cleanser. The tube itself is small and I was initially surprised by the cost per ounce. In using however, it takes only a pea sized amount to lather into a nice foamy cleanser that was more than enough to wash my face and neck. The wash is thick and brown in color with a slight smell that I don't mind. Used by itself without the sponge it doesn't lather much and is a smooth, non irritating wash.The sponge is air compressed and I was surprised with how much it expands. The sponge is scratchy and adds an element of "scrub" to the cleanser without sending any grit down the sink. It felt good to me. The frothy foam rinses off easily and cleanly.After use my face felt clean and soft. It was slightly dry, but not overly so. It did not cause any redness, peeling or breakouts. Using it every day is too much for my skin, but using it twice a week results in a nice fresh look and soft skin.
