This product:Not a miracle cure by anyone's standards. However, it strangely does help.Causes delay in response in flushing spells.May reduce redness by a small amount (certainly nothing like the pictures advertised).Expect eventual flushing from the same old triggers.Best bet for rosacea "cure" will likely be a combination of treatments, for example:Prosacea (dries out skin, use with lotions. Other generic, e.g. CVS brands, just as useful):http://www.amazon.com/Prosacea-Rosacea-Treatment-0-75-Ounce/dp/B001TSJ26A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437584641&sr=8-1&keywords=Prosacea&pebp=1437584635220&perid=1TQAPHDVKQWJ6SMK5TNFA non-oily lotion with prosacea (many out there):http://www.amazon.com/Aveeno-Active-Naturals-Moisturizing-Lotion/dp/B00J4YWNKI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1437584558&sr=1-2&keywords=Aveeno+LotionIf you want to cover up the shine associated with lotions/gels, you can use a silicone powder that won't be noticed (even if you're a male):http://www.amazon.com/MAKE-EVER-Microfinish-Powder-0-30/dp/B0016M52EUJust like taking a pill with zinc and sulfur-based compounds (Rosadyn) can help reduce your flushing, so can regulating your diet, and avoiding ALL SPICY FOODS. Eat cold, bland or alkaline foods. May need to entirely restrict diet to these types of foods - vegetables, milks, cheeses, rice, wheat, Avoid too much fruit, carbonated drinks (CO2 will become an acid in your blood). Too much meat in your diet means too many amino acids, which means too much acidity in your blood. The sympathetic nervous system (a part that we don't have much conscious control over) is clearly affected by the pH and temperature of the blood, for us, it's noticeable in the face.Since a component of rosacea appears to be a faulty nervous system, causing vessels to rapidly dilate in response to various triggers, beta blockers (like Propanolol) have been fairly effective in delaying flushing, however the awful side effects (general malaise all the way to extreme lethargy, decreased libido, even hyperlipidemia) make this drug fairly undesirable - it can help with symptoms though.Playing on the theme of a faulty nervous system, Mirvaso (alpha 2 agonist) was developed. This topical cream will literally cause you to go ghostly white for about 8 hours, make you immune to flushing, and probably result in an elated mood at the idea of a truly effective treatment. However, like most all drugs, once the primary effect has worn off, a compensation occurs. In the case of Mirvaso, I had flushing for about a week straight which has been labeled "compensatory flushing," I feel the term "suicidal flushing" is more appropriate. It also costs about 300 USD for a small tube of it. I suggest avoiding this treatment like the plague.Next step for me or anyone who hasn't tried it yet, is probably laser resurfacing (or a pulsed dye laser). This is basically closing capillaries with extreme heat, and when you go to a dermatologist you will feel it. Like most everything in dermatology, this will be overpriced, and cost you 500-1,000 USD, possibly more. After your face has time to heal, without capillaries present around the face, flushing simply can't occur to the same extent it did before (on most people), and until all those capillaries branch out again, the patient is relatively, flushing-free.Laser resurfacing. Destroy those bloody capillaries:http://www.realself.com/question/vbeam-laser-rosacea-treatmenthttp://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/463417In terms of your own research or thoughts on any problems you have, I suggest AVOIDING webmd or mayo clinic. Medscape is OK and will actually elaborate in a way for you to understand disorders.Best of luck to everyone. Rosacea is debilitating socially, but it is controllable as long as there is AC and avoidance of sun.UPDATE 7/22: seller, the constant up & down price change of this & the serum cream, mostly up on the capsules (now over $30) since day i left review is irritating!! these items have been in my cart to rebuy since and every day prices changes and sometimes multiple times a day, this has made me not want to rebuy...and your 20% off both products means nothing when you hike up the price and we end up paying same as before or more with it..btw 20% off 2 of the same product would be nice considering cream lasts a lot longer than a month and we don't need to rebuy 12 a year. anyhows these capsules are helpful (except during that time of month i recently learned) but, they are by no means so helpful that they are worth paying $30 a month for..started using cream serum and capsules so can't really say which is working or not working but, the combo has definitely finally started to undo the damage mirvaso cause after only one use months ago.. my cheeks are mostly more pink than red now, red nose almost clear, the small bumps on my cheeks & nose are disapearing without new ones showing up, dry patches on cheeks are pretty much gone, the boil like bump breakouts that kept showing up on my chin regularly after using mirvaso are also almost gone, and i do believe these capsules are actually helping my eyes on & off right now (even though not sure how), yesterday i could actually read the time on DVR from accross the room after waking up without having to put my glasses on, that was a surprise! more surprising however is that all of this progress i am experiencing has been from only using this and cream serum for only 4.5 days. Have tried loads of products for rosacea or sensitive skin and have tried many DIY remedies over the last two decades, other than the tea tree oil & aloe vera juice mixture, these capsules and/or the serum cream has worked the best and fastest for me and it doesn't dry out my cheeks like the tea tree oil mixture did. Now i just hope it keeps working and my skin doesn't end up no longer approving of it.I have been using this product for years. And it always works really well for me .
